Services for Adults 

Rivers of Hope adult advocates work with any adult experiencing domestic violence regardless of gender, race, religion, and socioeconomic status. Domestic violence can occur between intimate partners, family members, or household members.

Services offered by the adult program include:

  • Crisis intervention through a 24/7 hotline

  • Assistance with filing Orders for Protection and Harassment Restraining Orders

  • Support with navigating the complicated civil and criminal court systems

  • Connecting adults with resources to address immediate safety, housing, food, and medical needs

  • Connecting adults with other community resources to ensure that their needs are being met

  • A weekly trauma-informed support group for female-identifying survivors focused on recovery and guided by client-identified needs

Services for Youth

The youth advocate at Rivers of Hope work with middle and high-school-aged students experiencing family or teen dating violence. Services are offered to ELEMENTARY-AGED students on a case-by-case basis.

Services offered by the youth program include:

  • Crisis intervention through a 24/7 hotline and regular visits with youth in school-based settings

  • One-on-one advocacy and counseling in school-based settings, including ongoing safety planning and social-emotional skill development

  • Trauma-informed interventions focused on recovery and guided by client-identified needs

  • Coordination of community-based services for ongoing support, including management of student needs within the school setting and coordination with school personnel

  • Classroom presentations focused on healthy relationships and identifying warning signs of dating violence

Working in collaboration with schools and community groups, our Advocates meet with students to offer support, education, and referrals to community resources. Through education and empowerment, the youth program helps youth move beyond violence to healthy relationships.

The youth program services are available to schools, businesses and community groups. Presentation topics include: • Abuse • Coping • Self Esteem • Individuality • Healthy Relationships • Anger • Media • Dating Violence • Self Care • Friendship • Family Violence

Outreach & Education Services

Crisis & outreach services include our partnerships with a variety of other service providers including law enforcement, county social services, schools, mental health providers, and more. Rivers of Hope also engages in outreach to educate the community about domestic violence and the services & resources available.

Outreach and education services include:

  • Crisis intervention through a 24/7 hotline for community partners and victim/survivors of domestic violence

  • Participation in a variety of multi-disciplinary teams aimed at supporting the people served by Rivers of Hope and strengthening relationships with community partners

  • Educational presentations and training to community groups and organizations, including businesses, schools, churches, and civic organizations

  • Outreach to individuals through tabling at community events

  • Involvement in local, regional, and statewide educational campaigns to raise awareness about the impact domestic violence has on our community
