Services for Youth

The youth advocate at Rivers of Hope work with middle and high-school-aged students experiencing family or teen dating violence. Services are offered to ELEMENTARY-AGED students on a case-by-case basis.

Services offered by the youth program include:

  • Crisis intervention through a 24/7 hotline and regular visits with youth in school-based settings

  • One-on-one advocacy and counseling in school-based settings, including ongoing safety planning and social-emotional skill development

  • Trauma-informed interventions focused on recovery and guided by client-identified needs

  • Coordination of community-based services for ongoing support, including management of student needs within the school setting and coordination with school personnel

  • Classroom presentations focused on healthy relationships and identifying warning signs of dating violence

Working in collaboration with schools and community groups, our Advocates meet with students to offer support, education, and referrals to community resources. Through education and empowerment, the youth program helps youth move beyond violence to healthy relationships.

The youth program services are available to schools, businesses and community groups. Presentation topics include: • Abuse • Coping • Self Esteem • Individuality • Healthy Relationships • Anger • Media • Dating Violence • Self Care • Friendship • Family Violence
